My Must-Try Foods in Disney's Animal Kingdom
If you don't go on vacation without thinking about food then are you really on vacation?! The hubs and I are ALL ABOUT THE FOOD on a trip *especially* when it comes to Disney World. On our recent trip to Disney in February 2021, we were able to use all of our extra budget money on food (which is exactly what we wanted to do and how we planned it!).
If you have a trip to Animal Kingdom in Disney World coming and you're interested in the best places and foods to eat OR you didn't even think about food (who are you?!), then you've come to the right place!!
*DISCLAIMER* This park is one of my very favorite parks. It feels more like a walk in a forest because you're surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery. When we went to AK in February, Animal Kingdom closed at 5 pm so we left around 4:30pm and had dinner at the T-REX cafe in Disney Springs (another food blog soon to come!). This list will be very short just because of the short hours and because this park isn't well known for their food! But, I will definitely try more places on the next trip!
THE BEST PLACES & SNACKS TO EAT AT ANIMAL KINGDOM
Animal Kingdom-
1. Satu'li Canteen
Where: Satu'li Canteen - Pandora
Price: $12.29+
This is my favorite restaurant in all of the Disney parks! We found it in 2019 and will always come here! You come into the restaurant for a bowl (pictured), choose your meat, your base, your sauce and vegetable slaw. It is soooo amazingly delicious. This is a sit down, air conditioned restaurant and their servers are the nicest people! Both trips we had a server who was so kind and brought over cupcakes for my parent's anniversary and my birthday!
2. Night Blossum Drink
Where: Pongu Pungu - Pandora
Price: $5.99 each
"Layers of apple and desert pear limeade topped with passion fruit boba balls". It was a cold and sour drink which I would not share with my kids because it was so amazing. I dream about it still actually.
3. Mickey Shaped Ice Cream, Mickey Shaped Pretzel, & Mickey Shaped Waffles
Where: You can find these treats at their own kiosks throughout all the parks. The waffles are found at hotels for breakfast time
Anything shaped like Mickey's head has got to taste good right?! Plus it adds to the magic of Disney!
4. Tusker House
$59 per adult
$35 per child
Our very first character meal was at the Tusker House and it was incredible!! We saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisey & Pluto! There was a HUGE buffet with incredible African fare food. My picky kids even had full bellies because there were so many options for even the pickiest eaters! This is a must on our trips now!
honorable mentions:
yak and yeti
flame tree barbecue
