Disneyland & California Adventure Eats and Treats!
My family and I had a "work/research" trip to Disneyland this past weekend and it was soooo special. We love anytime we get to go somewhere special and Disney is EXTRA special for all of us!
My husband grew up going to Disneyland, this was mine and our oldest child's second time going and it was our youngest child's first time. We went on everything we wanted to, we tried out 2 separate strategies (more in a blog later), and ate soooo much!
Disneyland was decorated for Halloween and some of the treats on this list are seasonal, but I'm sure they have something similar throughout the rest of the year.
Here are the eats and treats that we all had, where to find them, and our thoughts on them!
SWEETS & DRINKS ______________________________________________________________
Beignets
6 pack for $8.49
Location: Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square
Family Score 3.5 out of 5
We LOVE beignets. We got them both days that we were in Disneyland Park because they are THAT good. The seasonal flavors are strawberry and chocolate. We aren't sure where the chocolate was but the strawberry was incorporated into the powdered sugar and we all agreed they weren't any better than the original ones. These are A MUST and with mobile order, it was so easy!
New Orleans Mint Julep
$4.99
Location: Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square
Family Score 5 out of 5
This is our absolute favorite drink treat in any of the Disney parks. It's so refreshing and we can't wait to make it at home!
Blue Milk
$7.99
Location: Milk Stand in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge
Family Score 2.5 out of 5
We have to try the blue milk everytime we go. I think it's the nostalgia! It really is a tasty drink but we scored it low ONLY because the recipe I make at home is tastier. Although it's not the exact recipe, ours is fruitier. If you're a Star Wars fan, this is a must! And try the green milk too!
Halloween Grey Stuff
$6.49
Location: Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland
Family Score 4 out of 5
We had to try Disneyland's version because Disney World's is much different and not as good. This one was very very good!! I'm assuming the Halloween version is only the sprinkles on top as they serve this all year round. Not big enough to share with all 4 of us but we made it work ;]
Candy Apple Cold Brew
$5.99
Location: Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland
Family Score 3 out of 5
I'm not sure if this is seasonal but it was very very good. Tart and sweet and it was ranked high only IF you stir it (says husband lol)
Halloween Alien Macaron
$5.99
Location: Alien Pizza Planet in Tomorrowland
Family Score 4 out of 5
I scored this high because I LOVE all tart and sweet things. Not only was this super cute, but the lemon curd and blackberry filling was so delicious. We ate 2 and they are definitely big enough to share.
Jack Jack Cookie Num Num
$6.00
Location: Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums in Pixar Pier
Family Score 4 out of 5
It was a chilly day and these come out warm and moist. It's your typical chocolate chip cookie but it was extra delicious.
Cinnamon Sugar Galaxy Churro
$5.75
Location: Senor Buzz Churros in Pixar Pier
Family Score 3 out of 5
A typical churro but kids loved it!
Caramel Apple Churro
$6.75
Location: Churros near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Family Score 2.5 out of 5
Ok, I saw this one before our trip and was super excited to try it because what I read was that it came with apple filling.... well this one did not. Points taken away from being bummed. And it didn't really taste like apple but because it was a churro, it was still good ha!
Cold Brew Black Caf
$5.99
Location: Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars
Family Score 2 out of 5
It was good tasting but there was so much ice that we barely got enough to fill up or really get enough to taste it!
Maleficent Churro
$5.75
Location: Churros near Sleeping Beauty Castle
Family Score 4 out of 5
This was a family favorite and it has a lot to do with the marshmallow dipping sauce. Omg, it was so good.
Matterhorn Macaroon
$2.99
Location: Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Main Street U.S.A
Family Score 4.5 out of 5
This was highly rated because it was a cheap surprise. At $2.99 it was the cheapest treat and was actually the tastiest! It wasn't big enough to share but it was so good!
MEALS __________________________________________________________
Batuuan Beef Pot Roast $18.99 and Endorian Fried Chicken Tip-Yip $15.49
Location: Docking Bay 7 in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge
Score 3 out of 5
My husband really enjoyed his and would've ranked it higher if the portion size was bigger. So probably not a meal you'd pick if you need a lot of food to fill you up. Mine was basically a giant chicken tender on top of mashed potatoes. Very good but not
the tastiest. *I have a very restrictive diet and I avoid spicy foods, fatty foods and
foods with acidity, so my meal options are always going to be a bit on the reserved side*
Bacon Cheddar Ale Soup $11.49, Shrimp Roll $12.49, Classic Deli Sandwich $12.49
Location: Pacific Wharf Cafe in Pacific Wharf
Score 4.5 out of 5
This was the day that was very cold and this soup was like heaven. Other than being warm on a cold day, it was delicious and came in a bread bowl that was amazing. The shrimp roll was good but we wish the shrimp was crispy like a po boy and the classic deli sandwich was very good because I love arugula ha. We wanted to try a lot of things so we ordered an extra entree and very glad we did! The entire meal together is why we ranked it high.
Original Corn Dog
$9.79
Location: Corn Dog Castle in Paradise Gardens Park
Score 5 out of 5
This is a classic corn dog but we've never had a corn dog this good. It's expensive for just a corn dog and a bag of chips but so worth it.
Lobster Nachos
$23.00
Location: Lamplight Lounge in Pixar Pier
Score 4.5 out of 5
We wanted to try a new restaurant so I made reservations for Lamplight Lounge. This was probably the best decision we made because we were seated on the patio in super comfy chairs, surrounded by fireplaces, with a gorgeous night time view of the pier and the food was delicious. After a long day of walking, sitting in these chairs was all we needed to get recharged. We knew it was expensive which is why we had the boys eat corn dogs before we got there and we just ordered the nachos because it's one of their most popular items. I ranked it higher than husband because he said it needed more cheese.... The entire experience and the food is why it's ranked so high.
Toasted Salsa Roja Chicken Sandwich Combo
$12.49
Location: Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Main Street U.S.A.
Score 5 out of 5
Husband had it and loved it. Warm soup on another chilly day. It was wayyy too spicy for me to try more than a few bites but he really enjoyed it!

So these are all the snacks, drinks and meals worth mentioning that we tried on our visit!
Things to remember on a Disney trip, prices for some meals are a bit more expensive but we combat that by packing lunches for our boys, eating store bought breakfast in the hotel room, and sharing all snacks and drinks. Also, know how to use mobile order for most restaurants and/or make your restaurant reservations early after booking!
Let me know what snacks you would've tried and what you think!
